I’m grooving to Stone Foundation this morning. On Friday, the Midlands-based R&B band released the flip side to the unadulterated blast of Northern Soul they shared at summer’s start, “Everything & All I Want.”
“Fix You Up” is equally taut and joyous. It’s the beat, the horns, and the soulful vocals from Neil Jones, who—as is often the case—co-wrote the tunes with lead guitarist Neil Sheasby. “Never give up on a good thing, baby,” he sings near song’s end, vowing to fix us up with something new. It’s a fantastic track that will have you dancing around the room, guaranteed. The video is equally cool, as it gathers footage from their 2024 summer tour. They’ve traveled far from their pub days!
The song can be streamed, of course, but is also available as a double A-side single (on green vinyl, no less) with “Everything & All I Want” via the band’s website.
