First Impressions: “Love You Last” by Without Willow

Irish folk duo Without Willow ((Karen Kelly and Simon McCafferty) share a sweet celebration of love on this, their third single of the year. Kelly explains in the press release, “The song came about after Simon got engaged and showed me this stunning guitar idea he had just written. Straight away I could feel the emotion in it, and I knew I had to try and do it justice. It was a lovely writing process, one of those songs that just flowed so easily. And the best part is I get to sing it at their wedding next year, which makes it even more special.”

The song, which was recorded at the Blast Furnace Studio in Derry by Orri McBrearty, also features Laura McFadden on cello.

The duo is slated to begin their first headlining tour on September 13 at the Roisin Dubh in Galway; stops in Mayo, Clare, Limerick and Dublin follow. (The full itinerary can be found here.) If the live videos found on YouTube are any indication, they should be magical nights.
